Mr. Bingle is a beloved holiday character from New Orleans, originally created in 1947 as a promotional mascot for the Maison Blanche department store.

This whimsical snowman—with holly wings, a peppermint cane, and an upside-down ice cream cone hat—made his debut in 1948, delighting generations of children and shoppers on Canal Street. Conceived by display director Emile Alline and brought to life by puppeteer Edwin "Oscar" Isentrout, Mr. Bingle quickly became a cherished symbol of the Christmas season.  His catchy jingle—“Jingle, Jangle, Jingle, here comes Mr. Bingle…”—signaled the start of holiday festivities and was broadcast during puppet shows and store events. Though Maison Blanche is long gone, Mr. Bingle lives on and remains a nostalgic icon for many in the Greater New Orleans area.
