Join us for a unique immersive experience into the history of feeding New Orleans since its founding up to the introduction of "supermarkets." This will be a fascinating exploration of the people, places and commodities which sustained New Orleanians over 300 years. Elizabeth will take us on a journey through time, touching on major developments which made "makin' groceries" a true iconic experience for generations.

L. H. Hayward & Co. Sawyer Hayward came to New Orleans from the West Indies in 1850. The large population of immigrants from the Caribbean created demand for beans, and a business was born - Camellia Beans.

Hubig’s Pies The fruit filled fried pies were originally introduced to New Orleans in 1922 by Simon Hubig. This will be a presentation of the company’s history and rebuild after the fire, giving by Drew Ramsey at the SoFAB Museum.

Southern Food and Beverage Museum A closing wine and cheese reception will be held at the SoFAB Museum. Guests will have the opportunity to explore the museum’s many fascinating exhibits.
